Super Mario 3 drunk Review
« Thread started on: Nov 1st, 2009, 05:57am » |

I just plowed 4 Blue Moon Belgian white ales. Let's do this
Modestly stated. It's the greatest game ever. Okay that's a bit much, I can already feel the alcohol undoing any restraint I possess and forcing a gut reaction. How can one pull back from the gushing admiration and truly focus on what makes this game so great?
I mean really, where can one start? The stop on a dime controls? The Wonderfully laid out landscapes? The various and abundant amounts of power ups?
Maybe best to point out it was a felt a stark contrast to the previous effort [SMB2 U.S] without feeling like a retread of The first game in the series. truly beginning the not so mentioned template of always skewing the idea of what a mario game is without losing what makes a mario game great at it's core.
That being of course platforming in such a Massive array of enviroments chalked with clever traps, tricky button management, eye popping colors and respectable rogues gallery that run the gambit of shapes and characteristics.
are there faults? sure. The Game has been studied well, and many game breaking tom-foolery has made a few designer traps laughable, but even this is a testament to how closely the game is examined and tested to it's core, once more proving it's timelessness.
Okay so the pixels can bug out now and then, but even this leads to more a feeling of nostalgia then frustration. reminding us once more what a great system we had back in the golden days of Nintendo
I suppose this isn't much a review at all, as I have only gathered now by looking over the 100% gush that is this so called review. One would think nintendo lined the pocket that could afford such wonderful Ales for this review. But nothing could be further from the truth. The real meaning of this post is simple, Tonight I swabbed a cart,Blew into it til my lungs hurt , then played Super Mario Brothers 3 Once more , and this my dear friends is a reminder to you. A voice slurring out into your ear...Have you Saved a Princess lately? if not, try the best, I think Nintendo has to offer

I actually think that's a fine review. Sometimes reviews from the heart are better than more objective ones.
Did you get blotto before/while playing or just before/while writing the review? I've always found that Mario games are still playable after a night on the sauce, but for the life of me, I cannot play Punch Out at all when I'm loaded. I'll leave that to Vodka Drunkenski Soda Popenski.
